Aporte

Aporte

Aporte" (Contribution) is a reflection on the social contract, the ethics of proximity, and true human value in the public space. The Metro, acting as a social mirror and a space of movement, forces interaction between three disparate lives traveling towards the airport, a threshold of beginning and end. Valentí (the young observer) represents the moral compass, empathy without prejudice. The immigrant (the economic contributor) symbolizes the tangible contribution. The homeless artist (the social critic) embodies the non-material contribution—culture and human presence—that challenges the strict definition of a "valuable member." "Aporte" links philosophical contribution with physical movement and social belonging, launching a direct challenge: what is the true measure of contribution? "Aporte" critiques a system where the right to dignity and space is dictated by economic status or passport, instead of the intrinsic value of being human. It compels us to ask ourselves how far our moral obligation extends towards those who are physically close but socially marginalized. What contribution is more essential for a flourishing society?
